Summer Programs
During the Summer Break, Behavioral ONE offers several Social Skills small groups and classes daily. Our Social Skills instruction and small groups are designed to address specific areas of concern, deficits, skill acquisition, and self awareness. We utilize evidence-based curriculums and strategies specific to the focus of the group in order to facilitate and guide high quality instruction. Groups and classes are kept small to promote quality instruction focused on each child's individual needs and goals. Space is limited and groups are assigned based on your child's age, developmental level,  and functional level.  Information about our specific groups can be found below.
Curriculum and Instruction

Curriculum, instruction, and activities for the social skills groups are specifically chosen to focus on acquiring the skills and knowledge as it relates to impulse control, over activity, poor decision making, difficultly paying attention, and conflict resolution.

The sessions will utilize two evidence-based curriculums to guide instruction and facilitate growth and improvement in your child's behavior and decision-making.

Instruction will focus on increasing self-awareness and promoting self-regulation in your child's behavior and decision-making in order to build a foundation for developing and utilizing the skills necessary to be more successful. Once the foundation is established, sessions will then focus on skill acquisition and application. Specific evidence-based strategies will be utilized to teach, reinforce, and practice new adaptive skills and behaviors.

Sessions are designed for children ages 5-8, 9-12, and 13-16. Students will be assigned to groups based on their age and developmental level. Group sizes will range from 5-7 students per group to allow for individualized instruction and feedback, as well as a low student to teacher ratio.

Participation Requirements: Due to the nature of the curriculums and skills taught, we have several requirements for participation that are specific to the small group settings. These requirements insure that the small group remains beneficial and productive to all children who participate.   Please call us if you have concerns regaring your child's ability to participate independently in the groups.  We offer several solutions and alternatives depending on your specific situation.
